About me
Dr. Jitendra Nagpal is a Senior Consultant – Mental Health at moolchand and one of Delhi’s experienced psychiatrists with over 20 years of work in mental health, emotional wellbeing, behavioural health, child and adolescent psychiatry, family counselling, and psychosocial care. His work has focused on helping individuals, children, adolescents, and families understand emotional challenges with clarity, compassion, and evidence-based care.
Over the years, Dr. Nagpal has been associated with leading psychiatry and counselling platforms in India and has contributed extensively to mental health awareness through corporate stress-management programs, school wellbeing initiatives, youth mental health advocacy, and national media engagement. He has regularly appeared as an expert across major media platforms and has played an active role in making mental healthcare more accessible, understandable, and stigma-free.
His clinical interests include anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, substance abuse, schizophrenia, developmental concerns, family and relationship counselling, postpartum depression, and geriatric mental health. His approach follows a bio-psycho-social model, looking beyond symptoms to understand the individual’s emotional, medical, developmental, social, and family context.
Dr. Jitendra Nagpal has also contributed to academic and editorial work. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of School Health and Wellbeing, written regularly on adolescent and wellbeing issues for HT Education, and is listed as a co-author of a peer-reviewed cancer-awareness study protocol published in the National Journal of Community Medicine in 2019. He has also contributed to academic book chapters in the area of school mental health and adolescent wellbeing.
At moolchand, the focus of his care remains simple: to help patients and families move toward emotional balance, functional recovery, and a healthier, more confident life.
