Having been diagnosed with a critical condition can be confusing and scary for anyone. But, we are here to help you. Our Interventional Radiology (IR) Department is dedicated to the application of imaging to guide minimally invasive techniques utilized in diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of conditions. Guided by X-ray, ultrasound and other imaging technology, our interventional radiologists use catheters to access the blood vessels and treat vascular blockages or embolise vascular abnormalities. Other procedures include biopsies, drainage tubes, feeding tubes and pain injections, as well as treatment of cancerous tumors. Because these procedures can be performed without invasive surgery, the recovery time is much faster and there is less risk for complications.
